Why We Built FairIndex
We're golfers first. And we were frustrated.
FairIndex was born out of a common experience shared by golfers around the world: the feeling of being unfairly flagged by crude, automated handicap monitoring systems.
One of our founders took a series of lessons over winter, practiced diligently, and came back in spring playing significantly better golf. Within weeks, he was flagged as a potential sandbagger by Cap Patrol. The committee had no context, no explanation to give, and no tools to investigate properly. It was embarrassing, demoralizing, and fundamentally unfair.
We knew there had to be a better way. A system that could tell the difference between a golfer who was genuinely improving and one who was gaming the system. A system that understood context, tracked coaching, and treated members with the respect they deserve.
So we built one.
